Hypocrisy through financial necessity...

Okay, so I'm going to the gym again.  Those of you who remember my anti-gym rant of 28 August are probably arming for war, but allow me to explain.  I still hate the gym.  I don't go because I like it, I go because my martial arts classes got too expensive and because I'm tired of being fat but refuse to give up beer.  I have to do something.  But ( Read more... )

I agree with you...but I've also got a gym membership myself. :P

I gave in and finally tried water aerobics stuff, and find it much more enjoyable than any kind of "standard" gym workout. It does strength, conditioning, cardio, and is no-impact so my joints don't hurt afterwards. And, it's over much quicker and the hot tub is that much closer. :D

All good points...how's the old-people ratio, though? I hear lots of them go in for water aerobics for the low-impact.

It's really hit and miss. There tends to be more overweight people than old people when I go, but for the low-impact reason primarily. Jason gives me crap about it, as he has the mental picture of little old ladies in swim caps...
