I swear to God, I need a buddy icon to hang on the outside of my cube. That way, people who only communicate in leetspeak or binary (or who are otherwise ignorant of social cues and body language) will know when I'm busy.

We do have a couple of people at my job who do a similar thing though, so I totally understand where you're coming from.
