Bakeoff Drabble (prompt 2)

Moon dappled shadows were draped across the forest floor.  Above, the mysterious blue of twilight was fading into blue-black and speckled with stars.  The air was fresh and cool, and was heavy with thick tendrils of lingering chakra.

Ino, drawn by the powerful and familiar chakra, tried to cast her senses wide looking for what she wanted.  Her hidden desperation only showed in the way she fussed with her sleeves as she searched.  All she found was silence and empty forest, making a pit in her stomach.  A shiver down her back was the only warning she received.

“You shouldn’t be here,” a deep voice whispered in her ear.

“You shouldn’t either,” she retorted.  She breathed deep, feeling muscles that were tense finally relax.

“If I’m found all I have to do is evade ANBU and that’s the end of it.  If you’re found here with me ...”

Ino huffed and turned around to face her companion.  “Just shut up and kiss me already, Kisame.”

Sharp teeth were revealed in a shark smile.  “Always to the point aren’t we?” Kisame murmured as he obliged, his mouth slanting across hers.

The kiss started soft, but some sharp nibbles from Ino’s teeth instigated her lover to become more aggressive in kind.  Ino sighed as Kisame’s fingers tangled tight in her hair.  The feelings of exultation that hummed through Ino’s blood ran in time with her suddenly racing heartbeat.  I need this feeling so much, that’s why, is what Ino wanted to say, but she instead remained silent.  Choosing to enjoy the kiss as long as she could before it had to end and she was left wanting more.
