I loved your description of the experience, even though it sounded pretty miserable. It reminded me of the way you used to write your letters to me. There was always a sense of humor underneath each adventure, and your details and inner thoughts made every letter like a story that I couldn't wait to read

I am glad we got to talk last night for a few hours. It was great. I miss you a lot. I wish we could've reconnected after I talked to Mom, but I hope the fact that we didn't get to means that you got to go out and have a bit of fun.

I hope your week goes well if I don't talk to you before then, though we will probably text. This weekend when you are off again feel free to call me. My weekend nights consist of watching tv, so that would be a pleasant diversion!
