Yes. Within reason, and from all I know Obama's plan in well within reason, yes. Am I bothered that we are "encouraging bad behaviour?" No. I've plotted a course in my life that has paid off and we can make our payments, but there was quite a bit of luck involved. Not to mention people who bought what they could afford, were making payments, and then property values dropped by a third, and then lost their jobs, and now will lose their house too since they can't sell it and cover the mortgage.

Exactly how is this THEIR fault? I mean, people assume values might fall somewhat, but very few expected it to happen by as much as it did in alot of places.

And traders are the biggest, most ginormous assholes on the face of the earth. They are such assholey assholes that even politicians look upon them as a blight, and lawyers have to hold their nose to take money from them.

I think it is part of trader mentality. It is basically gambling, but they can't believe that. So when they hit it big it was because the deserved everything the get and others that go broke, well, it was their own fault. It is especially important to keep that mindset when you're deliberately screwing over somebody you know.
