It's not for everyone, but I have found the 3D Mind work of Tom Vizzini quite effective in addressing changes like this. It's basically a form of mental/emotional alchemy, where you take apart a problem state into its necessary components and then use a resource state and its components to create a new balance. You have to see the demonstration video to believe it - the subject at one point exhibits blatant amnesia for a problem he had been stuck in for years, even though there is no official trance induction or traditional hypnotic technique. Even cooler is the followup video they did 4 months later. The website is a bit tarded, and frankly Tom's production values are sometimes horrendous, but as for his actual work, it's serious tech, check it out.
