I know I've been absent and mostly silent for... hell, I don't even know for sure how long. I think the last thing I posted here might have been about how I was ready to continue a WIP

We thought about going to that rally, but it's a long ride on the train and I knew it was going to be packed. I didn't think it would be that packed, thought. Wow, is right.

And man alive, but checkign the major news sites and newspapers' coverage of that story is an education about media coverage. My favorite is MSNBC's headline about the 80,000 people in the crowd, paired with a picture of Obama speaking to those seniors out in Gresham--with about a dozen of them in the picture with him.

Obama campaign folks have been on campus for about two weeks; I got a bumper sticker from them, but passed on canvasing. If I had time, I might, but there's just no way. I should see if Eldest is interested, though.

I do think it's really awesome you're getting involved with that, and I think it's perfectly natural and laudible that it takes precedence over your online existence. Best of luck!
