[See Ken. He's actually in his office, at his desk and working on paperwork. Without bitching. He's been there during business hours willingly for the last three days, which is odd for him.

Someone says something off camera and Ken glances up, shaking his head before he tells them to check the armory. That done, he's back on his paperwork.]

[Aya has been watching Ken closely. He knows this is unusual for Ken and he has some idea of why he's acting this way.

So, he finally gets up and heads over to Ken's desk. There he stands waiting to be noticed so they can talk. Obviously his friend needs it.]

[He's well aware of Aya's presence and honestly, he's shocked he's waited so long to come bother him over his recent work ethic. Still, that doesn't mean he doesn't make a point to answer his silent presence right away. Soon enough, though, the pen in his hand stills, showing that yes, he's paying attention, even if he isn't looking up at his friend.]

{Dean has noticed the overzealous working and he might have a small idea of what's going on. He wanders in, flops down very loudly in his chair and puts his feet up on the desk.]

[And Ken's just going to silently reach over and shove his feet off of his desk.]

[Dean gives Ken a 'bitch are you for real' look and puts his feet back up. Ken wants to be a dick, well Dean's got some experience doing that.]

[She knows he's not her kid - most of them weren't really but while the curse gave her fake memories of them all being her children it didn't mean the feelings were fake. So here's Mary, knocking on his door after seeing his video of him working so diligently. As his - well - fake mother, she could see that he was upset. To her it didn't matter that she hadn't known most of them before the event.]

[He pales a little when he catches sight of her. Clearing his throat, he motions for her to come in and does his best to look at least a little less grumpy.]

[Mary's not sure whether to laugh or say something to make him more at ease at his reaction to seeing her. Instead she settles for just entering the office and puts a large brown paper bag on his desk.]

I saw you on the phone-thing [She nods to his device.] and thought I'd come see how you were doing. [Fingers tap the bag lightly and now she does laugh lightly.] Also, I brought you some food.

[For a moment, he actually smiles. It's a small one on a face used to much bigger expressions, but it's the first smile in a few days.]

I'm alright. Recovering from 'family time', I think. I'm... not really used to the whole family thing.

[Someone's waiting outside the police department, holding a soccer ball and wearing shorts, a tank top and tennis shoes. All of which were probably bought in the last twenty-four hours because they're definitely not Mara's usual style.]

[And the sight stops Ken short. Of course, she looks great and normally, he'd grin and sweep her up in a huge hug, but today... he looks a bit lost.]

I thought you could show me a few things and then we'd go out for dinner. You like this sport so much, I though I might give it a real try instead of just watching.

[She knows something's up with him, but she's been stuck in her own cycle of shock after having her father criticizing her for an entire day. It was simply the best distraction she could think of.]

[He offers his hand to her before he heads towards his bike.]
