[Background]
Legault the Hurricane is a thief, an assassin, a spy... basically the whole Sneaky Bastard package is his thing. He is a former member of the Black Fang, a mercenary group turned dark group bent on world domination; once it took a turn towards evil, Legault promptly bailed, taking all the treasure he could. He has a jagged scar across one eye, assumedly from a mission gone wrong; his clothes are mostly black, representing his sneakiness.
At an unspecified amount of time prior to the game’s beginning, Legault was a founding member of the Black Fang, along with his best friends Brendan Reed and Uhai the Hawk, and Brendan’s two skilled sons, Lloyd and Linus. The three older members became skilled mercenaries, performing whatever duties they were hired to do- Legault himself became the espionage specialist, performing thefts and occasionally assassinations. The group was prosperous- even as they were targeted by the law of the various countries they’d worked in, their membership began to grow unabaited... which is when it happened.
Brendan took a wife, a woman named Sonia; she quickly gained control over the Fang, manipulating Brendan into making poor decisions, and eventually demoting Legault and Uhai into low ranks in favor of two unknowns, Jaffar and Ursula. Sonia’s corruption of the formerly glorious organization continued, with her influence eventually leading the army to attempt an usurping of the throne of the military country of Bern. The policies of the group changed, and those who were wounded were killed; Legault was forced to kill a friend of his, a woman named Aesha, who had been wounded by her own comrades during an assassination gone wrong. Saddened by this turn of events, and the recent death of his friend, Uhai, for similar reasons, he left the Fang. He joined the group of Eliwood, a Pheraen noble searching for his father, a man named Elbert. Elbert is almost immediately killed after Legault joins the group, and it is here that it is revealed that Sonia is a pawn of Nergal, a Dark Druid who has taken control of the Fang using Sonia to manipulate Brendan so he can summon a fire dragon from the Dragon’s Gate. His plan is foiled when he really fucks it up and kills Ephidel, a Morph- an artificial human.
The adventure continues to stop Nergal, and Legault is eventually present when Lloyd, Linus, and Brendan are killed in the battles. Legault grieves for his friends, but continues fighting.
Eventually the battle reaches its climax at the Dragon’s Gate once more. Nergal uses his powers to create Morph zombies of Brendan, Lloyd, Linus, Uhai, and a whole bunch of other people who got their shit fucked up too. Legault and the rest kill them, then kill Nergal, then kill a whole bunch of other guys and some Dragons. And... that's pretty much it. Poor Fire Emblem characters and their lack of background.
[Personality]
Legault is... very difficult to describe. At first appearance, he's a man who takes nothing seriously, constantly making jokes and taking everything in stride- below this, however, he's a very depressed person, due to the death of not only the organization he loved, but also his 'family'. He's very protective of those he cares about, although he has a helluva way of showing it (Flirting with all the guys and telling all the girls they should ditch their lovers for him). He's a kind man, though, and is very friendly to everyone he meets. But, again, he's an assassin. He will try to kill you if you wrong him or he's paid enough- but he does have his morals, and won't kill the wounded/elderly/young/infirm/women with children/friends of his/etc. etc. But yeah. Gay and happy-go-lucky, to sum it up.
[Specialties/Abilities] He's a skilled assassin, incredibly good at finding chinks in armor and the like for instant kills. He's quite sneaky, and knows all the tricks- how to break scabbards to make swords undrawable, how to paralyze someone's sword arm temporarily, etc. Other than that, he has no supernatural or magical abilities.
[Affection] Pretty much anything goes! And he will flirt with anyone he meets that looks of legal age. IS HE JOKING? WHO KNOWS
[Fighting] He won't provoke anyone, although I guess if someone paid him enough he'd probably attempt an assassination. Either way, he's a skilled swordsman and can hold his own in a fight, although he'd have no chance in hell of winning against anyone of equal or greater skill without resorting to trickery. In all likelihood, he'd just run away.
[Other Facts] LEGAULT IS A FAG ABOUT HIS HAIR. He has about 100 knives strapped to various parts of his body and inside his clothing (which includes a badass headband. with three knives in it.). Also he has 43 hit points, is level 20/19, and has maxed Skill/Speed/Luck. Gimped on Resistance this playthrough, though. Poor Legault.
