That's rough man. Disability can take a while and be very bureaucratic. Unfortunately you just gotta do what you can to make it by until everything clears. Then, it gets better;)
Deep breath, remember, you have to concentrate to aim well, lol. I know its hard Shayne, I dont know how hard as I've never been there, but I know it sucks. I hope that you find some little form of happiness in everyday.
Don't get your heart set on a money date from them. It took me a lawyer and 2 years to get it settled. I had to go to court where the judge was anoyed that they didn't approve me eairler because it was a clear cut case. I don't mean to make you worry more. Just help to save you the dissapointment. Though, on the bright side, you will make more living in Cali than you would in Colo. Pay rates for SSI are more there. Thats another thing, you need to make sure they sign you up for SSI as well as SSD. It will mean you get more money in your settlement and your medicare will start sooner. Unless SS has said for sure you are approved and your just waiting your 5 month wait I'd get a lawyer now. They don't cost you anything out of pocket. They take a percentage of your settlement. And my last bit of advice, don't go to the hospitals in Turlock or Merced. Go to Memorial in Modesto. It's by far a better hospital. I'm not just saying that because I worked there. I do hope your doing better and if you need a heart you get a good one soon. *hugs
