Obama might kill Daylight Savings Time. Words cannot express! It is pretty much given that Canada would follow suit, yes? Business concerns and the like?
EDIT: The article actually says Obama should look into this, rather than he actually is.
We should hold "Good Riddance" parties, similar to the ones that people around Ottawa did, when Kim Campbell (the last leftover of Mulroney's Tories) was voted out of office (in 1993).
"Daylight Savings Time" is clearly an oxymoron. Who needs it?
It doesn't say anything about him actually planning, considering, or even being aware about any opposition to DST. DST the way it seems to actually work doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense to me, since it seems to shift things so that I get fewer daylight hours during which I do not need to have lights turned on - but this is mostly because I sleep until noon. Having the sun come up at 6am rather than 7am or vice versa isn't really helpful when the sun is already gone again four hours after I get out of bed.
Ah. I somehow missed the 'should' in the title of the article. The operative verb is 'looks' in the URL, so maybe they've changed it since?
Anyways. Apparently we're now on Standard Time, and the entire point of DST is to get an extra hour of evening sunlight for summertime activities. Which still makes next to no sense to me, since summer has plenty of sunlight even without DST, and it's not like people hibernate during the winter.
