Ang It-Hong (洪一峰) died of pancreatic cancer last month. I've only really seen news that
indirectly mentioned his death, and to be honest I'd never heard of him before. However, he was a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and actor and I've heard at least one of his compositions.

Many of his songs were in Taiwanese Hokkien, including "旧情绵绵." (I've uploaded this in an album previously, but
here's Teresa Teng's version.) It happened to be one of those folk songs on that tape I had (and still have, for some reason) that broke. You can hear Feng Fei Fei sing another Ang It-Hong song, "蝶恋花," here:

His
Chinese Wikipedia page lists more of his works. It's really sad that I'm "discovering" Chinese singers after they die, since
Wu Yingyin died last year and she was really popular in the 40s.
