Fei Yuqing!!!

I'm sure other Jay Chou fans have parents who listen to Fei Yuqing, but I'd never heard of him until I heard "千里之外"/"Far Away."  (Of course, I'd only known who Jay was for a very short time before I heard this song, to be honest!)

This song has been so popular that a changed-lyric version has been made by evil creditors fans, "欠我十块"/"You Owe Me 10 RMB." Jay released his first album in 2000 and Fei Yuqing released his first album in 1977.  Basically, Chinese people my age tend to listen to Jay and Chinese people old enough to be my parents (if I were Chinese) listen to singers like Yuqing, so this duet got young people to listen to Yuqing and got their parents to listen to Jay.  (Even if you don't like Jay Chou, you have to say that he's done a lot to bridge the generation gap!)

Fei Yuqing's released a lot of albums in Mandarin and one album in Hokkien.  He sings a lot of pretty and poetic old ballads as well as folk songs.
