Part one-
Jack tapped away on what was Toshiko's station computer. "Low reading but still worth a look" the American turned to face his team Gwen Cooper sitting forward on the Torchwood couch and Ianto Jones leanning aginst the wall which led down to the autopsy bay, the place where Ianto used to take down Owen his coffee.
Gwen looked again at her watch, she was looking forward to tonight. "You two take the SUV and check it out; shouldn't be anything, just incase I'm ready if you need me, OK".
Ianto looked up towards the hothouse and back down at Jack. "Getting anywhere with it?" Ianto asked his welsh vowels rolling over his tounge.
"Still coming up with loose ends, but I'll get used to it and have some results soon; I just have to stick with it".
Gwen stood up and grabbed her coat jogging to the cog door as Ianto went to reach for his coat on the hook Jack gave him a kiss on the cheek which grazed his mouth ever so slightly, Ianto couldnt resist and kissed his quickly but hard on his mouth.
They clicked their seatbelts on and Gwen sighed looking at her watch again.
"Whats wrong?" Ianto asked caringly as he put the car into reverse moving out of the parking space.
"Jack promised me I could leave work early because Rhys is cooking us a meal tonight and I really wanted to make the effort and be on time, but typical Jack has forgotten, if it dosn't involve him, he dosn't see it. And I cant leave you on your own now, not when we are going to check this out".
Ianto took a left. "I think Jack's just a bit preoccupied trying to work out all the system's that he isnt used to. I'll take you home and you can have a nice romantic meal with Rhys. I can go and check this low level reading, which is probably just an alien coin or something".
Ianto pulled up ouside Gwen's flat "I can't Ianto; what if it's dangrous?"
"I can handle this Gwen, honestly. It will be nothing."
Gwen leaned over and kissed Ianto on the cheek. "You are a sweetheart, please dont tell Jack?"
"My lips are sealed", Ianto put up his hand to wave at Gwen as he left her road and carried on to where the navigation system was telling him to go.
Back at the hub Jack was having a eureka moment. "HAHA! He tapped the keys jubelintly, Jack was looking at his pocket watch
"You better be quick Mr Jones, I'm in the mood to celebrate tonight!"
The house was on an old council estate, a broken gate swung on its hinges in the wind, and when Ianto went to open the thing it fell off.
"Nice place," Ianto muttered to himself under his breath and proceeded up the path; opening the door wasn't a complicated procedure as it was unlocked.
After going though each room slowly and one by one brandshing his gun, just in case, Ianto took out the portable device from his bag and followed the reading up to a bedroom upstairs. He opened a cupbord door and bent down to reach inside as the frequency became higher still.
Ianto felt a small object, he picked it up and put it next to the device which made it go off the scale. He turned it round in his hand; it looked almost like a thimble and had a pattern around it...a circle of circles.
His eyes began to hurt and he decided he would take it back to the hub for closer inspection, but when he tried to get up his knees felt stiff, he held onto a near by chair and slowly stood up.
He seemed to be walking slower than normal down the stairs, he wanted to get out of this place it was making him feel very weird. He swung open the front door, but he caught his foot on the step outside and fell, blacking out. His last thought before he felt into uncconsiousness was, 'What the hell is going on?'
