Update on my father
Turns out the problem was simultaneous flareups of the gout and osteoarthritis. He's been moved to a long-term physical therapy center for "a few days" according to him, but we'll see how long it takes. -
State of the Family
Well, I heard from my brother, who is on his way to the hospital my father is in. We're still worried, especially because after talking to my brother early this afternoon and sounding like he had things mostly under control even though he was in pain, a couple of hours later he used his Lifeline button to summon an ambulance.
