I am sure Draco was merely exaggerating about everyone. I find it most impossible that he could dislike the excellent chums he's made in Slytherin House, especially a wonderful friend such as yourself.

He was probably just being funny. Draco has a rather unique sense of humour, you know. He got it from his father.

Why thank you for the vote of confidence in my role as friend to Draco, Signora Malfoy.

I expect you are right. I cannot besmirch Draco of his excellent sense of humour. He may have got it from his father but, if I may be so bold, he also acquired some things from you.

I like I think I know my son very well, Blaise, and I certainly believe you are his dearest friend at school.

Your boldness suits you, young man and you are definitely correct. Draco does take after me in quite a few ways. I'm so very proud of him, a mother couldn't have a better son.

Why thank you, Signora.

I am pleased that you think it suits me, for if you did not I would take pains to change my ways. And a son could not have a better mother (save for my own, of course).

What refinements have you arranged for? Alas, I remain suspicious.

What sort of gentleman would I be if I told you the specifics of the treatment that I am having done to the chair? It is a surprise, Pansy. Why do you remain suspicious? Do you not trust me?

I did not mean you, nor Pansy, Millicent, and other select Slytherins.

You shouldn't have to ask such a thing in the future. Whenever I make an insult en masse, it is not likely to include anyone whom I'm given express permission to read my journal.

I will keep that in mind, Draco.
