Physical characteristics: With brown eyes, black hair and a light brown skin colour, Blaise is as good-looking as someone would expect the son of Felice Moreau to be. Which he knows, and therefore keeps up his appearance to reflect. He's always clean-shaven, always at his best - even down to the nails, and he dresses well. He does exercise, but he's never been extreme or strict about it; it mostly just comes naturally. It can even be said that the amount of work he puts into his appearance is not in the least bit "normal" for a male. Well, depending on their definition of the word.
Distant History: In late 1976, fresh out of Hogwarts as of a few months and with an ultimatum from her father to build up her own wealth, Felice Moreau had done what she could with what she had; and while she was more than capable of getting a job within the Ministry to do so, she much preferred the route that took less work and married a Wizard aristocrat within a year. She was happy with that, absolutely perfectly content. That is... until meeting Savio Zabini while on a holiday in the summer of 1978 and they meshed perfectly despite the fact that she was still married. During the summer, they had a bit of an affair, until Felice returned back to England. That, however, didn't stop Savio from attempting to contact her, and with more wining and dining, never mind Felice's realisation that Savio was quite well off and that she really couldn't go wrong, she decided the marriage to her previous husband had to end. But she was a still greedy, and how she could keep his money and have Savio was yet to be determined. Head over heels for Felice, Savio came to the perfect conclusion. Conveniently, her husband needed to die. Felice, of course, had no qualms with this and the plan was set into motion, with Felice playing the grief-stricken wife and Savio the family friend, until the heat died down after the fact.
In the summer of 1979, Savio took Felice's hand in marriage. Felice, however, was always one to be looking onto the next greatest thing, and while she was always a woman interested in a good face, the deeper the pocket was always better. So it was that while celebrating the new marriage, she still saw other "friends" of hers, and when she found out she was pregnant just into the month of November, she decided that the very not quite so wealthy friend of hers neither ever needed know of the possibility of his paternity, instead telling Savio she was having their child. Things were quite happy between the two right up to the birth, on July 4, 1980. Not too long after, a Dutch man of notable wealth caught Felice's eye, and not one to hang on for long, she decided that her marriage with Savio had reached its end. She convinced herself that he quite possibly wasn't Blaise's father to begin with, and in the end, when she went ahead with her plans and collected his riches, decided it was better that way.
Needless to say, while Felice wasn't an inattentive mother, it was probably good that during the first two years of his life, she had decided that Blaise living with her parents a good idea as she and her Dutch husband enjoyed their newlywed status, and then their marriage. Until, of course, his untimely death - after which, she decided it would be a good idea to take Blaise back into her custody. At this point, Florence's parents had caught on to what she was doing, and though they tried not to say much about it in front of Blaise, he still caught their conversations growing up. By the time Blaise was ten (which was also the year he met the paternal side of his family which, needless to say, didn't go very well), she was on her fourth husband. And, though he tried, her newest husband couldn't crack the shell that Blaise was even then. Little did he, or Felice know, but Blaise had decided that, if what his grandparents were saying was true, that it wouldn't make any sense to get attached. And it was a mentality he carried right on with him into Hogwarts, sorted into Slytherin, that being to not get too attached.
Throughout his first six years, Blaise stayed well away from the insanity of attending Hogwarts during the Harry Potter Years. From the Philosopher's stone, to the Basilisk, to Sirius Black and the disastrous Triwizard Tournament. He wasn't a member of the Inquisitor Squad, having much better things to do with his time, and he was only a member of the Slug Club because he didn't think as lowly of the Professor as he had Umbridge (it was obvious to him that she was an idiot and he really didn't see how Malfoy, Parkinson and rest couldn't see that). Throughout these years, he didn't talk much to his other house/year mates, though he didn't ignore them completely. He did, after all, talk to them much more than he did any other students. In his seventh year at Hogwarts, he still attended, not seeing any danger for himself by doing so, and because he wanted to take his NEWTs. He was, very wisely, however, not there the day all hell broke loose, having been called away for the ill-timed (or perhaps perfectly timed) marriage of his mother (of course, that marriage didn't last long too long - though this was through divorce).
Recent History: [Most of this is me sticking with some of the original Blaise's history] Post war, Blaise went on a holiday, during which he found out that his mother had spend up just about every single knut they had in her depression. Blaise did what he could to make sure that there was at least some money, mostly for himself. At which point, he moved into Euterpe's Corner and took the only job he really could get at the Daily Prophet. Funnily enough, it took a bit, but around mid-February, an idea occurred to him - while his grandfather (Ames Moreau) very obviously held distaste for his mother's life choices, he surely wouldn't let his grandson continue on in such conditions, right? So, without much, or any warning at all, Blaise left Euterpe's and took a "holiday" to France, which he asked (read: begged without actually getting on his knees) for help. His grandfather, fond of Blaise but not happy with the way he was raised, was willing to overlook things and help him but not Felice, if he could show some sort of business promise for Ames' next venture. Which, to Ames, required learning directly from him (he lost his job not that he actually cared, and Ames made sure his rent was paid). It wasn't until less than a week ago that Ames decided he could fully trust Blaise, that he let him return to England with his help. Which, he had never planned to be money, but a money-making opportunity. So Blaise was given the task of opening a catering hall to be named Moreau, and Blaise really doesn't have another choice, so he's going along with it.
Current employment status: Blaise was an employee of the Daily Prophet up until about February, but upon his return he works at Moreau's, located on Roy Alley - which has yet to open. It will be, when it does, a catering hall for a wide range of occasions. How he feels about it is sort of a toss up; it's a business venture of his grandfather's that he's been put in charge of so he is his own boss (sort of), but he'd still very much prefer the option of spending his life travelling and living in expensive hotels and so. Still, it's better than the job he once had, and it has the chance of rebuilding his wealth, which, let's face it, is all Blaise really cares about right now.
Personality: Blaise is a very, very, complicated person. While tactful, he rarely, if ever, spares the feelings of a person if they a) aren't important to him in some way, or b) don't have something he wants. He has his quiet tendencies which can make him seem a bit mysterious, or even distant and aloof, and despite his intuitive nature, he can be apathetic enough that he wouldn't likely care to use any information he comes across. He can also be charming, and maybe even slightly flirtatious (and even then it depends). He has never had a relationship that's lasted longer than a few months, if even that long, he was no interest in dating those he considers friends, and it's highly unlikely he'll (willingly) develop the desire to date anyone in the building(s). He knows how attractive he is to others, and so has a tendency to be vain and confident, slightly crossing into the realm of cocky. He's more logic than instinct - as far as he's concerned, action without thought is where most people's mistakes lie. He's also good with numbers/money/spending (something he obviously didn't get from his mother), he's well aware of when it's time to cut his losses, and he's adverse to all things Muggle. He's only fluent in French, competent in Italian, and knows enough of other languages to have previously passed it off as fluent knowledge at his old place of work.
As far seeing the good/bad sides to Blaise, it's really simple. He gets along best with people who are former Slytherins, can conduct themselves with at least some sort of dignity, aren't Gryffindors, a bit like him general. It also helps if you never, ever compare him to his mother in any way whatsoever. If not you can find yourself dealing with a very unpleasant person and has the ability to behave like a sociopath (guess he gets that from his mother). He can be heavy on the insults/sarcasm, and will readily enjoy a bit of schadenfreude at your expense. The point is that you'll know if he doesn't like you, and if the list of who would fall into that category is necessary, let's just say most of his neighbours.
The advantages to living with Blaise are simple. He's tidy, he'll definitely keep to himself, and the chances of him actually giving a dam about your life/issues/problems, are virtually non existent. Now the disadvantages to having Blaise as a flatmate, I thought were pretty obvious, especially if he doesn't like you. Have you met Blaise?
