It would be hilarious, but I wonder if the fake fur that one needs to make the costume out of would be a bad idea in the Atlanta heat?
On the other hand, there are people doing anthro'd versions of Pokemon so I don't see why a pair could anthro these classic Sesame Street muppets. The eyes could easily be a headdress (headband with pingpong ball eyes hot-glued on along with some colorful plastic craft springs for antennae. After that, making a long dress out of a furry material that allowed for the arms to be bare might give the wearer more comfort.
LOL I made two costumes today for my son and a friend based on these muppets to wear at a costume camp out that had an alien theme for scouts. They are so funny. I will post pic's if they haven't ruined them before they come home. They were in a hurry so they didn't give me a chance to get photos.
two guys from minneapolis did this in Masq. it was amazing! the got the movements perfect. they did tehtelephone sketch. bbbbbbbbbbbrrrrrriinnnnnngggg! TELEPHONE!
LOL I'd love to see what u would do! :) i've showed my kids tons of sesame street sketches (yay, youtube) and now we always laugh at the telephone when we think about the martians.
Oh I bet that was hysterical! I had seen a halloween costume based on this and wanted a chance to try my hand at making them since I think they would be rather easy and so funny. I bought a ton of material today that will work perfect and already made a couple of prototype costumes. So, I guess I have commited myself to doing at least two of these guys for the Con now. We spent the day "yip yip yip yip brrrrrrrrrrrring" today! LMAO
Very glad I could help...lol. I have to admit it makes me laugh a lot and yes it is a shame that the comedy of it is lost on younger generations. It's like a private joke.
