Gnarly is here!

Jun 13, 2009 19:06

Natalia Genevieve, aka Gnarly, was born on June 11th at 4:34 am, after an emergency induction-turned-natural birth. She weighed 7lb 2oz and was 19.5 inches long. She is the most gorgeous baby pretty much ever. Pictures with proof coming as soon as I get the time to find the camera cord.

We're all three of us doing great and are home.

I love, love, love the names you chose. They're beautiful separately, and together, they're just perfect.

Congrats on achieving a pain med free birth! Lynn said you were able to get into active labor w/o Pit being administered, too, which is great!

Thank you! She's gorgeous, and I'm crazy in love.

I did! I got lucky, but except for the emergency induction thing, it was pretty much dead-on the birth I wanted!

What was your AFI, do you know? Any clue why it was so low? Baby N checks out just fine w/ kidneys and all that? I'm sure that was so terrifying for you! I was just relieved to hear you guys were ok.

Gnarly's totally healthy, yes! But they're watching her a bit more closely than normal, especially since she had a REALLY short cord (about a foot, and it snapped when I brought her to my chest).

My AFI was 3. My midwife sent me for an ultrasound when my fundal height measured 34 for the second straight week. NO idea from either of us why it was so low, but I guess with the heat I may have mistaken leakage for a bit of sweat?

Thank you! It started crazy and scary, but God really answered my prayers and it ended up being wonderful.
