Nothin's wrong, it's from a Johnny Cash Song ("God's Gonna Cut you Down"). It's not as depressing in context:
"Go and tell that long-tongued liar, go and tell that midnight rider, tell the rambler, the gambler, the back biter, sooner or later God'll cut you down"
and so forth. There's another line that says 'what is done in the dark will be brought to the light'. So, I think the idea is not so much 'you're gonna die, sucka!' but more 'everybody dies, and everybody gets judged for what they've done, so think up on that'. So it's a little depressing, but still true.
