So, a week or so back, we were walking towards Ben's apartment in the early evening. His new host family is near 101 -- across the road, in fact -- so that was all lit up. But there was something different about it

I understand "we" (The collective of your friends back "here") Haven't gone through the life-experiences that you have, but don't start to think that you are better for it or some sort. Don't end up belittling OUR experiences. I'm not saying you have at all, but don't let that happen, you know? It wouldn't sit well with others.
I have never been to another country like you have, but I have been uprooted from everything I know and I am still in contact with only ONE of my friends from that move. It's how life goes. Some friends stay, some go.
I haven't seen you, obviously, but I know that you have changed. Life is Epic, you know?
At least I'll get to see you at Jafax! Ben, Ame, Brian and I will be the firsts!
I didn't mean it like that at ALL, Thalo, so don't go jumping to conclussions. I wasn't being "superior" in anyway -- I was confessing my honest fears. Thanks for making me feel like a creep. I wasn't belittling anyone.
All that crap, all the nerves, aside, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I just hope none of us are so changed this year that we aren't still friends. That's all.
Though I've never been an exchange student, though I've never visited any country besides Canada, I do know the attachment issues. The summer beofre 9th grae, I visited my aunt in Oregon. When I first went, I was like, "Wow, I can't believe I;m here." In just two short weeks, I grew so attached to Oregon that when I got home, I was so depressed that all the excitement and fun ended. I still feel that way when I go do fun things and then come home afterwards by myself. And that's what I think will happen for you

Thanks, Ame-chan. ^^ I hope Thalo isn't too furious at me...... >.<"
That's so sweet!! "Soon." ^^ lol. He <3s you, Ame. *grins* I must meet him, threaten him with a shotgun if he ever makes you cry, then glomp him and dub him "brother-in-law". LOL. Think that'll scare him?? *hopes so* ^..~
