I've just friended you. *g* Partially because I'm all squeeful to find somebody else who writes dystopian fics. Partially because emerald_dragon8 says you're awesome. And partially because you're a fellow Aussie. :)
Oh, I love that girl! To confess, I am a fake Aussie, but I have a blue passport if not the accent or upbringing, and I chose to move here, so that counts. This is the only real dystopian fic I have written, though several others tough on darker political themes. It will not be the last, though. And friended you right back!
She is definitely awesome. *g* I live in the same city as her so we know each other in RL. I took her out a few weeks ago for her birthday and then we made equally silly LJ posts about it.
Aww, well according to some, I wouldn't count as a true Aussie either but I just raise an eyebrow at them and tell them to go away. I consider myself an Aussie, therefore I am one! *g*
Yay! I look forward to reading other political or dystopian stuff from you. :)
Hi Brammers, So I've been a devoted lurker for some time and have finally gotten around to getting my very own LJ, and would be delighted if you would friend me :D I adore all your fics (ALL of them) as well as all the wonderful commentary on our marvelous Australian political system. Cheers! zuma

Hi Zumapi! Welcome out of your lurkerdom! And thanks for the kind comments, I have been depressed all day because after three days of working on my The History Of Australian Politics as Told Through Harry Potter post, Annabel Crabbe did Utegate The Potter Version in the Herald today.
But I will keep going, as my post contains the best Bob and Blanche joke I have ever made ;-)
If you could see me now...

It wouldn't be very flattering for me (as I am all mouth agape, bed-headed, and wide-eyed), but very much so you as I now think you are kind of ridiculously cool.
You listed 12 different languages that you could follow journals in, and I have trouble with just one. I am horribly impressed.
That said I found a piece of yours over in the HP Showcase and liked it very much, and am now looking forward to reading the rest of your work. (This may not be the appropriate place to comment on this, but... It seemed easiest to enthuse all in one place. And it seemed rude to otherwise lurk.) Cheers!

Oh don't get the wrong idea! I am reasonable at reading French, vaguely passable at reading Italian, and can puzzle out a bit of German, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian because I have a very very vague familiarity with the structure of the languages and they have similarities to ones I am stronger in, but mostly because I have a large reference library. Latin, Irish and Welsh are all languages I have actually studied and have many reference and textbooks devoted to. Can't remember a bloody thing that's not horticultural Latin or common mottoes of the Middle Ages. But I can look it up in a jiffy!
So thrilled you liked my story, welcome to the LJ (it's a bit deranged), and feel free to lurk or to join in as it takes your fancy. Thanks so much for the note!
*laughs* I can guarantee you that I will never wax poetic on My Pretty Pony and I haven't had plaits since...uhm, ever.
I was going to ask to friend you because I have read your comments on some mutual friend's ljs - thilia primarily and I love meeting new people. My rants are usually f-locked and hidden, so you need not be subjected to them if you don't want. :)
Hi teganscrush! Sorry for the delay, life has been bonkers of late. That sounds lovely! Any friend of thilia's is welcome as a friend of mine! And I do love a good rant.
