They just pretty much say that they argue and are mean to each other in front of their kids & they want peace for their kids. They use the word separate and divorce both, and they say that they will coordinate visits with the kids by sharing the house, one person leaving when the other is there.
So I guess the kids will have two parents still, just not simultaneously. If you've never seen the show, a lot of it is based around how the couple gets mad at each other and how they treat each other, mostly because Kate is very bossy and tries to be super-responsible and Jon is somewhat submissive and resentful. Marriage vows aren't what they used to be. When I say I do, it's for life. You (not YOU, but people in general) need to work at things. Relationships aren't always easy. Sometimes they suck, but when you take your vows, it's for better or worse, forever.

I agree with you on Jon and Kate. It seems like everyone who has a reality show splits up (except for Ozzy). Kate was such a shrew and Jon was so passive.
