I went out with
pillagedpenguin today. We had dinner at Fazoli's and ice cream at Cold Stone (the new one in Crestview Hills). She got to meet my puppy, Havi. Havi was a chicken in a previous life, but one that tried to be a guard chicken. So when she meets new people she raises her hackles and growls. But her hiding behind me and running away lets the cat out of the bag. I think she liked
pillagedpenguin but I don't know if the sentiment got across quite well.
We also exchanged reeeaaaallly late christmas gifts. She gave me the most beautiful sock yarn and a set of #2 double points. I shall have to find a beautiful sock pattern to do it justice. I had been looking at sock yarn before but had been too intimidated to buy it, but ironically, I had been looking at the exact yarn she gave me.
*takes a moment to hug the yarn*
*recovers from yarn induced euphoria*
In other recent news, we went to Borders to look around between dinner and ice cream and saw a book with animal pics on one side and quotes on the other. I think it was cat pictures (but it may have been bunnies). In this book I saw my new favorite quote.
He that but looketh on a plate of ham and eggs to lust after it hath already committed breakfast with it in his heart ~ C.S. Lewis
Isn't that a great quote?
