Me on TV(reality), in case my opinion matters...

I believe that the rise of reality TV is a rebellion against the manufactured-ness of typical television. Regular TV never put in enough honesty or depth...so reality TV stepped in to fill the void. So now TV viewers, instead of caring about fake people, can now care about carefully picked and generally not too spectacular people in a ( Read more... )

I believe that the rise of reality TV is an act of cheap laziness (both in production--it cost much less--and in viewers ideas of entertainment).

Yeah that certainly plays a part. I blame it all on Candid Camera and America's Funniest Home Videos. And those cheap asses that present us with the "news". And while I'm at it, ehhhhh, let's blame my mother. She watches enough of the shit.
