London Hotel Recommendations

4 of us are going to London in December and we're lost as to which hotel we should choose, mostly because of the really bad experiences we've had up till now. Since we don't trust the hotel homepages anymore, I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for a hotel ( Read more... )

I've stayed at two hotels in London; one was called the Pembridge Palace and was well nice but I think not too cheap (mother dearest was paying). The other one was in Paddington and I'm trying to remember what it was called.... My dad has stayed at a Comfort Inn and that was fine, I think those are a bit all over town. The one he stayed at was near my house in Vauxhall, good communications, border zones 1 and 2 but south of the river. 'S all I have, I'm afraid.

The place I've always stayed at is the Regent Palace in Picadilly. The location is so amazing, it's worth it for a shared shower. It's a decent hotel, stories in it's hayday, but I've always felt VERY safe there and prices have always been good for me. However, December, not too sure.
