Thanking someone has to be the rudest or dumbest thing imaginable. It's quite insulting. If someone thanks you, it's like they're trading sentiment for work. Sentiment is endless and caustic. How is sentiment caustic? What would you rather have, wealth?

Then it's just a mighty dollar makes right world --the general principle that we decided to teach the business majors for some reason.

Sentiment isn't bad in itself, but it's often abused and put into monetary/concrete terms. All I'm saying is one shouldn't be forced to act in an altruistic manner, and the receiver shouldn't expect the giver to have sentimental feelings, and let that be enough. Yes, anyone deserves help in a time of need, so this situation is out. It only applies to other situations.
