Fight the Power.

If I had any sense at all, Drifter's Escape would have been released today.

That's interesting, and, it does make sense... I'll be taking a public policy (as it pertains to families) this summer, and now that I've had a little breather from spring semester, I am very much looking forward to it. The semester before last I took a course about Families and Poverty, and one of the texts was a book called The Working Poor: Invisible in America by David Shipler, which spoke to the working conditions of many immigrant workers (agricultural & textile), among others, and how much these workers do for our economy, working in conditions that many others would not tolerate. The relatively low prices we pay for our produce at the grocery store is thanks, in large part, to the meager wages that migrants work so hard for. I think it's really unfair that we deny that we depend on these people, when we really do depend on them, and then treat them so poorly. Looking at it in this new light (not enough of us to do the required work), it seems especially important to be more respectful toward them.
