I think the NFL referee union has a problem with Mike Holmegrin, who just so happens to be on the rules committee and fought so desperately for instant replay. Also, the head official tonight has had a grudge with Mike for years.
Not to mention the east coast bias and desire to see us lose...
We've got the technology to put most of the refering upstairs in the booths, where cameras can get much better angles then the people on the field. We could just seat a few refs in the booth and let them watch the game on the monitors, looking for penalties.
I dunno, I just think the NFL needs to take a step back and look at this mess.
it is a big mess. every time i turn on the radio or the tv, they're talking about the unfairness of the calls made at the superbowl. my favorite is the statement made by the quarterback of the steelers and how HE even doesn't think he scored that touchdown. it's just too obvious.
but yeah, i also heard/found out that nfl refs are only part time. they don't do this full time. so maybe they need to reexamine the amount of practice and field time these refs get before they put them in a superbowl atmosphere.
my dad refs and he could have refereed (is that a word) better than any of those guys.
this superbowl will for sure go down in the history books as a very questionable one.

the mvp for the superbowl this year should be the refs.
