About a mouse

My touchpad died last month. Kaput. With n'er a word of apology. Being the lazy sort, I haven't had the time to fix it or take it somewhere to be fixed. Word on the street is that the warranty on this American computer (which is only 6 months old) covers International service. I just have to get into gear and track down a Toshiba-authorized ( Read more... )

You could go the extremely lazy route...

Duct Tape over the glowy parts on your mouse so it no longer shines. But that makes me sad inside, so instead I suggest you get someone to make you a mouseshirt (think something like a sleeve to put over your mouse so that the glow parts are obscured yet it is still functional.

Mouseshirt... mouseshirt. Making that one word sounds like you're shooting for a trademarked line of mousewear. Reminds me of the Mouserug fad a few years back...

To be honest, the quest to alleviate the radiation pekes my inquisitive dendencies more than my lazy tendencies: finding the proper inner wires to clip is an excellent reason to take something apart!

Seriously?

I think your mouse sounds rather fun. I guess it would be annoying if you can't shut it off to sleep, though.

Yep. For real. But this is the extent of my laziness and apathy: I'm using a laptop. Everything is within super-easy reach. It would be really painless to unplug the thing when I walk away from my desk. But I don't. My post was framed as a rant, but deep down, in my heart of hearts, I doubt it makes such a big deal to me.

Taking it apart is still appealing, though. If only to see how many LEDs it uses to do this.

Working without a pointing device means desperate times with me, and desperate times require desperate measures (thus the mouse shirt already mentioned). But, being an optimist, I say, what the heck, make the most of it. As a matter of fact I see by your link the spec sheet on this beauty it most probably is time to UPGRADE! ......to the MiniGlow Optical Mouse w/Retractable Cord. What could be more delightful that a Momma and Papa mouse around the place.

Indeed, the retractable cord edition is appealing, if only because owning two would mean that I wouldn't have to pack the mouse at all when going places with the ntoebook. Alas, the model to which you refer was not on the shelves of Currys.Digital when I was shopping on Friday.
