What a pleasant surprise

Here I was...on a camping trip, sitting with my laptop in the Short Stay Navy Recreation Camp Store parking lot, checking my e-mail.
Upon opening the mail from one of my best friends....your mother, I almost jumped out of my seat. Had I been on my home computer, the news would have knocked me off the chair. Sitting in my car with the mini computer on my lap prevented a serious fall.
I love you Rob and congratulations to you both. Of course it took at least an hour for your mom to answer all my questions which I'm sure is no surprise to you that I had that many questions.
One day I'll tell you about the eb and flow of Ron and I. It included a Dear John letter at one point. Thirty four anniversaries later, we're "still crazy after all these years".
Sorry we did not get to see the Kalee while you were home. We just could not fit it in with the packing etc for our 2 week trip. Perhaps you'll host one again...maybe at the wedding!

Well, thank Heavens for subtle timings. :c) Far be it from me to have joyful news be the cause of hospitalization of dear friends!
I have little doubt that your question-and-answer session exceeded an hour. Perhaps we can talk soon; I hope you saved some questions for me! ;c) I will look forward to hearing a little about your own courtship, then.
It's no trouble about the dance. While it would have been wonderful to see you, and I guarantee that you would have enjoyed yourselves, my purpose was to facilitate a good time rather than inject stress into the lives of others. I am sure you followed the best course of action.
We heard your news today and are so, so happy for you, Robert! What a great story - which I surmise has a much more complex plot :), but I will not ask you dear mother for details, lest she run out of hours! Perhaps she would be so good as to write up a little sketch in her own delightful way and share it around! May God bless you both abundantly!
Thanks for the blessing, and sharing my joy! Indeed, there are many subtleties to this tale; I'm not completely sure that even Mom has them sorted out. :c)
