You are not alone, my friend. My boyfriend has worked for Radio Shack for four years, and the number of customers who come tearing into his store ready to kill someone because of how heinously they've been mistreated as Best Buy is unbelievable. The big issue, and please add this on to your rant when you retell it, is that Best Buy hires the lowest common denominator and pays them accordingly. Their staff is not paid on commission, which means they couldn't care less if you're happy with your purchase or not, and there is virtually no one in the store capable of actually providing customer service. (Geek Squad guys, on the other hand, are only kind of part of the company, and are generally awesome, but hindered by the fact that Best Buy sucks so much.) Basically, they save money on both staffing and training so they can have a greater profit margin.
