Yea, our senior year they did an Every 15 Minutes program where they rang a bell and took a popular person out of class every 15 minutes and put a bunch of ghostly make up on them ;). But that was very different since we all saw them leave and knew they were, y'know, not actually dead. I still think it was kind of a silly program with only temporary impact at best, but at least it wasn't traumatizing.
Yeah, I wonder if any families are going to try to bring lawsuits against the school for undue distress or something like that. In my district they did some sort of weird performance art thing where a bunch of students walked around in ghost drag to symbolize untimely and preventable death, but that's very different from actually lying to everybody.
