every so often, for reasons i can not even begin to try to explain, i go veggie. but it never lasts for 2 reasons. 1. i miss burgers and steak. 2. I GET FATTER. peta is obnoxious. there is something to be said for being against animal cruelty (my favorite part of living in sonoma was that i actually knew and could check out where my meat came from so i knew it wasn't cruel) BUT peta hurts the cause.
i've had the exact same experience - i went veg twice in the past (both times, idiotically, to impress girls), and stuck with it for about half a year each time.
not only was i miserable, my body freaked the fuck out and gained a bunch of weight. it interpreted the dietary change as starvation, and started to pack on the weight to make it through this "bad season".
nevermind that the portions were smaller, and nevermind that i exercised. fat and exhausted doesn't sound like a "beach bod" to me, peta.
they are only doing what kellogs special K and other diet ads do if you ask me, just less subtle... those ad verts just point out how it looks good to be slim where in reality these guys have gone for the julgular...they couldnt have been more direct if they had gone 'stop being a fat cunt'
i just showed this to a big lass here and she laughed I guess its how you take it...
way I see it in one fell swoop they have totally taken the micky out of a lot of adverts
actually though the bit they got wrong...I am vegetarian and I am slim...vegans are generally looking not far from death... but I know other vegetarians and it makes no difference to their weight and they are still big - its miss selling really
