Am I avoiding being scared about the surgery by worrying about living on half pay for a month+ after the surgery? The last couple of weeks, I was worried about the post-surgery diet. Now I'm worrying about money. Are these real worries, or is it a way of avoiding worrying about the surgery itself?

I freaked out about EVERYTHING during the weeks leading up to my surgery. Whether or not you think you're nervous, your mind has a way of distracting you by anything and everything. Molehills look a lot like mountains when you're trying not to think about the risks involved with anaesthesia and surgery, at least, that's how it was for me.
