I'm delighted with the results of the presidential election (and especially pleased that Nevada went for Obama, as I had a small hand in that). While prop 8 has not officially be declared a "yes," it certainly looks like it passed. I am profoundly disappointed that discrimination as been enshrined in California's constitution. Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a non-same-sex marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

I don't normally bother with these, but I certainly didn't want to have anyone think that I believe the government should have any say in who marries whom.

Embarrassingly, the representative who was supposed to represent me in Wells and the one who represents the district that I moved to in California have 0% records. Fortunately, my Senators did better.

As the article says, "McCain probably shouldn't count on the "science vote" this year."

A McCain ad just went by, claiming that Republicans will create a balanced budget.

The last budget that I saw that could even pretend to be balanced was, I believe, under Clinton. What am I missing?!
