I had the TV on in the background (Hallmark channel, DirecTV) and a Stouffer's ad ran, followed immediately by "I'm John McCain and I approve this message." The ad after was a cat food ad. I'm not sure which ad he approved, but I found it amusing.

I don't think this is getting the coverage that it deserves!

Without a solution to paying for the surgery, it has been postponed. University of Utah may be willing to do it as a charitable surgery; I'm waiting to hear back. They tentatively scheduled it for Sept 8/9.

My surgery is still scheduled for Aug. 25. However, the hospital called today to let me know that my insurance will pay $2,000 and I will need to pay the other $43,000 (yes, they'll pay around 5%).

I need ideas; I don't have that kind of money, especially with Jordi starting college & having just bought a house.

I've started on Mirapex. I'm sleeping better, can sit in the car for ours and my sleep walking seems to be dramatically reduced.

Surgery for the hiatal hernia will be August 25.

Still waiting for the CPAP machine.

The doctor who did the sleep study called this afternoon. He says that I have severe sleep apnea (normal is 5 or fewer airway collapses in an hour; the threshold for severe is 20; I had 66 during the study). He's going to prescribe a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine to treat the apnea. He also confirmed that I have restless ( Read more... )

I know that several on my friends list are using CPAPs. What machine did you get? Which mask? Did your insurance company pay for it, or were you out of pocket (as I expect to be)? Are you happy with your choices?

We bought our new house today (signed papers, made the down payment). The house will be ours sometime on Friday. It's in Pioneer, Amador County, California. We're going to take a UHaul load out next week and make some decisions about floor covering (we want reasonably pet proof).
