So at work I usually answer the phone in this manner:

"Thank you for calling Finale at Park Plaza, this is Mike, how can I help you?"

so yesterday the phone rings, I pick it up, say that little phrase, and this is what the woman on the other end says:

her: "Is this Finale?"
me: "yes"
her: "The one at Park Plaza?"
me: "yes..."
her: ok thank you!

I can't tell how how often that happens to me.

Good Evening thank you for calling your Wilmington Fashion Bug (yup, still working there haha), this is Tracy speaking, can I help you?

I've gotten the following.

Who's speaking?
Where are you located?
Is this Fashion Bug?
Is this Brother's Pizza?
Is Dave there?

Along with the one that Dave was talking about...the whole "where are you coming from?" "Uh...I don't know." or "wilmington"

I answer the phone with "Dwealin cluster office, how can I help you?" Dwealin being a word for the buildings Dwight, Leach and Hamlin. I've had one guy ask "did you just say this is the dew squealing cusp office?" I wanted to yell at him yes, YOU called the DWEALIN cluster office and I totally just said it's a dew squealing cusp.

And one guy was like I want to talk to the RD, and I said I'm not sure if she's here but I'll transfer you to her line and if she doesn't pick up you can leave her a voicemail. He asked me again if she was here, and after I responded for the second time that she wasn't he was like I don't want her voicemail, I want to talk to her so please put her on the phone. He was being a douche so I told him to hold on and transfered him directly to her voicemail just to piss him off.
