[Sitting in an alleyway with his mask in his hand, Yuri begins to look at various functions and features on the Dreamberry he found in his pocket moments ago. This was obviously not Sternbild and he had to figure out what was going on and why he was no longer in his chamber dungeon... He also needed to find a change of clothes because nobody could ( Read more... )

[ uuum. if he doesn't know where he is, then- ] Ah, you're new. [ ... the obvious right he had a question. questions. ] You're in Somarium.

As for the second thing, I believe there's a store in Somni that would have what you're looking for. [ kind of wants to point out that, while it's bound to get colder, wearing a suit with how hot its been outside may not... be a good idea. but. he really has no room to talk. he walks around in a suit sometimes too, s o yeah. ]

Somarium? [A small, frustrated sigh] As many years as I've spent in the legal system, I don't think I've ever heard of this place. Do you have any more information on it?

[A pause]

And thank you, I'll be sure to look into it as soon as I find my way around.

A dream world. [ there, there. ] On the Dreamberry, you should be able to find a folder of sorts with the bare basics of this place. [ a beat. ] Though- I should tell you now that the Dreamberry also... broadcasts dreams.

[ and then he sort of nods, only to remember that this is voice and not video when he falters. ]

Yes- you're welcome. There's a map on the Dreamberry, too, if you can't find your way around Somni and Espoir. [ the thing is useful! if not a little dumb for broadcasting things that people don't need to see ever. ]

It broadcasts dreams? How can a little device like this broadcast something so personal? Not even we remember all of our dreams yet this thing can broadcast it?

[Yuri hesitates, a bit bewildered at this information]

Is there any information in the records folder about how and why it broadcasts the dreams?

[Now... that's a voice he hasn't heard in a while. Thankfully though, since every time he does, he pays out of his pockets for it. That aside, this time the voice of one Yuri Petrov isn't followed by the smack of a gavel against wood, and so he can breath a little easier.

That isn't to say that he's breathing easy, though. Confronting the man off duty would surely be strange as well, but it's his duty to at least say something. He'd like to think the man would do the same for him, in any case.]

Umm. Judge... Petrov? [There's a bit of uneasy laughter, followed by a slightly hesitant:] Welcome to Somarium, sir...

[His head snaps back in the direction of his Dreamberry, eyes narrowing when he sees the name Kotetsu T. Kaburagi on the screen. That Hero is here? That destructive, bumbling Hero is here? He is one of the reasons Yuri can't have nice things.]

Mr. Kaburagi, I didn't expect to hear from you. [A beat] You seem to know where we are, would you mind giving me some information on my current whereabouts?

[voice] fiveminutefail August 18 2011, 05:07:09 UTC
Yeah... I bet you didn't expect to actually end up here either.

[More of that delicious, uneasy laughter. At this point, he's about to go off rambling, but he reminds himself that this isn't Bunny, nor one of his actual colleagues, who are all used to his way of speech, his mannerisms. So he tries his best to be concise, to questionable avail.]

Well, we're not in Sternbild. I don't even think we're on the same planet as Sternbild.

[Good choice, Kotetsu.

Yuri frowns as soon as the Hero says that they aren't in Sternbild. That much he knew without having to consult another party.]

The last thing I recall was being at my desk with a cup of tea... I have no recollection of anything past that. I was extremely exhausted when I arrived home that night, so I must have fallen asleep.

[Why he was volunteering this information he had no idea.]

Is that all you know about Somarium, Mr. Kaburagi?

There's a Records folder on your communication device that details the basics of this world.

Ah, I wasn't aware that there was a folder with useful information. I'm just now figuring out how to operate this device.

[He hesitates slightly]

I appreciate the help. Is there anything else I need to know about this place? Do you know why I'm here?

I've been here for five days now, so I'm still gathering information from the various people here. I'm also in the process of double checking the reports given in that folder.

[A small sigh]

Is there any information that you've been given that cannot be found in this device? Have all of the reports you've looked through thus far checked out?

[The voice is vaguely familiar to the young hero, but what truly catches his attention is the mention of Sternbild. He hopes (rather foolishly) for a split second that it might be one of his fellow Heroes -- before realising that it certainly wasn't. Even so...]

Ah, I'm afraid you're right, this isn't Sternbild. It's a place called Somarium.

[A pause. Wait. Is this man -- ?]

Judge... Petrov? [He's fairly certain that's who the voice belongs to. Well, he hopes so, at least -- or it might be a bit awkward.]

[He's not as familiar with this voice as he is with Kaburagi's, but he recognizes the name that flashes across his screen. Origami Cyclone, always in the background, played a prominent role during the case that involved Jake Martinez. They have had little contact, perhaps only a nod in passing or if the young hero ever came before the Justice Bureau...

However, seeing his name confirmed something the judge had been wondering since his conversation with Kaburagi - there are others here.]

So your colleague has told me.

[He really did not want to be bothered, but he did ask for information and Origami Cyclone, no, Ivan Karelin was just trying to help.]

I don't believe we've ever had the pleasure of speaking, Mr. Karelin. You're smarter than your fellow Hero, you understand the concept of damage control.

[He breathes a small sigh of relief at the affirmation. As bad as he felt for the man, being stuck in Somarium and all, it gave him a bit of hope that others from their world might eventually show up. He knew that it was a selfish notion, but he missed the rest of his fellow Heroes. Which was related to the man's first point...]

So you've already spoken to either Kotetsu or Barnaby then.

[He nods to himself, deciding he didn't need to offer information if he's already been briefed by one of his colleagues -- although the information offered might vary based on which man it was.]

N-No, I don't think so Judge Petrov. It's an honour. [Is it obvious how painfully awkward he feels right now?] Ah, well, I don't think my sponsors would be too happy if I caused a lot of damage, and it's not like I have a very destructive power to begin with... [Now he's feeling insecure again. Nothing new.]

Mr. Kaburagi was one of the first to greet me upon my arrival. He's an extremely friendly individual... everybody I have spoken with has been extremely welcoming.

[He pauses. The insecurity is obvious in Ivan's voice.]

Origami Cyclone is as necessary to the safety and happiness of Sternbild's residents as any other Hero. Your sponsors are proud of your work and what you've done for the city.

[However, you are still a young man who lied and defended a sinner... which makes you just as much of a sinner as the man you defended.]

[A man has to look his best in courtroom, after all.]

A few people have helped me out immensely and I'm very appreciative. [A beat] I just want to look nice. Unfortunately, whoever brought me here did not let me change clothes first and, because of that, I am not suitably dressed.

[The vigilante costume is wonderful, okay. He just doesn't want anybody seeing him wearing it.]

I don't believe anybody has mentioned anything about the currency used in Somarium...
