Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Hikari stands at about 5'8” tall (somewhat tall for a Japanese woman), with an athletic build due to training and the fact that she's been doing some sort of exercise for most of her life. She's not bulky, it's all mostly lean muscle, though there definitely is visible muscle in her legs through cross-training during her military time.

2. How old is she?
25 during the duration of the rebellion, with her birthday being July 22nd , making her a Cancer on the cusp of Leo. [jsyk, this was changed from her original birthday of July 8th because this makes a bit more sense in terms of her personality. BIG THANKS TO SUU AND NATALIE FOR THE HELP ON THIS ONE. :'D]

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
Normally she keeps herself pretty straight - after all, you usually aren't allowed to slouch when you're in the military. But when she's tired, in pain, or trying to stay inconspicuous, then she slouches slightly.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Hikari's in incredible shape for someone her age, considering her military time and the fact that she's still fairly active, even after retiring.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
She's fairly fluid in terms of movement, especially considering that the form of martial art that she had been studying emphasizes fluidity, so she's gotten a lot better about keeping her movements and stances fluid and flowing into one another. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have her clumsy moments - especially when she's a bit buzzed.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
Hikari really isn't the type to worry too much about her physical appearance, especially considering most days she's fighting from when she wakes up to when she gets tired enough to drop from exhaustion. But she doesn't think that she's that bad-looking, honestly. And she can actually clean up pretty damn well - had to, at one point.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Light-skinned, mostly clear outside of a few major scars.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Dark brown, slightly on the thick side, usually cut extremely short. Nine times out of ten she looks like she's got bedhead. Her bangs hang in a peculiar style, a chunk sitting right between her eyes, another section that flips the opposite way while the rest lays flat. She sometimes slicks the back down or spikes it with gel, but most days she doesn't do much with it outside of brushing it out.

9. What color are her eyes?
Deep brown, like most Asians. Though when she enters a berserk mode (which, granted, only happens a few times, and usually because of Devil Jin), they begin to glow.

“You're going to freak people out if you do that.”
“What?”
“Your eyes are glowing. Again.”

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
There's a large tattoo that's on her right arm - it extends from the top of her bicep and ends just above her elbow. The design looks like this, and is in deep red ink.

Also, there are two large scars on her left shoulder - clawmarks from the top of her shoulder to the shoulder blade, and a circular scar right below her clavicle. Both from Devil Jin. B|

11. What are her chief tension centers?
Shoulders. She's usually rubbing them/rolling them when she's stressed. Her forehead, too.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Casual to the max most of the time - though form-fitting in some cases. She has a couple riding outfits for her motorcycle, some deep-colored jackets, pantsuits, loose and form-fitting shirts, jeans, boots, etc.

She also still has the undersuit and armor plating from the suit that she was given during the rebellion, using it as her default demon hunting attire. As for color schemes, she likes richer colors - deep reds, blues, and blue-greens. Some gold/orange, too.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Most of what she wears is pretty fitting, definitely. Unless she steals clothes from Odyssius (which she does have a couple of his shirts still from when they were dating, orz) or the guys, there's only a few exceptions in her wardrobe that are incredibly loose. And she tends to wear clothes that are comfortable and practical for her job and for riding, so yes, she seems incredibly comfortable in them.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
For the most part, yes. Only when she has to dress up does she really change her wardrobe to fit the situation accordingly.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boy shorts are her lifesavers, especially when wearing armor.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
A little deeper than you would think when you see her at first. If she had a voice actress, I would think like Megumi Ogata (Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus) for what's closest for her in Japanese, and probably Michelle Ruff (Crimson Viper [Street Fighter 4]) for English.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
Evenly unless pushed to great emotions, somewhat louder, since she's used to having to bark out orders, so she's actually pretty articulate, and talks easily.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She's got a slight Japanese accent when she speaks English, and her Japanese is in Tokyo-style dialect. She does have a habit of repeating some words when she speaks (“Alright” and “seriously” are main offenders in English).

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Hikari is proficiently bilingual in Japanese and English, though she understands some Korean, she just can't speak it very well. :'D

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Yup! When she's talking to someone she knows doesn't speak Japanese, she usually switches over to English. Or if she's incredibly angry, she switches between Japanese and English cursing. When she talks to the majority of the Tekken cast that's prominently in the fic [Lars, Jin/Devil Jin, Heihachi, Kazuya, Hwoarang, Lee, Alisa, Xiaoyu, Asuka, Kaiya, Tougou], she speaks fluent Japanese, her style fluctuating depending on who she talks to. For example, with Lee, Alisa, and Lars, she's incredibly polite, meanwhile, with Heihachi, Jin/Devil Jin, and Kazuya, she's incredibly casual, which in Japanese speaking standards either equals extreme closeness or extreme rudeness - you can probably guess which one she goes for in that case.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
Tougou and Lars used to joke about how she can whip up “epic shounen speeches” within moments, so yeah, I'd definitely say she's a pretty good impromptu speaker.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Usually pretty eloquent, surprisingly. She's damn good at finding out what people want and working that into her speeches and the like. However, when flustered, stressed, or angry, she tends to fail at this a bit, sometimes misinterpreting what is said and what she's trying to say.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
Definitely more street-smart, but Hikari is by no means an idiot. She's incredibly good at picking up on things around her, she learned how to fix up motorcycles and some military tactics through this.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
She's more of the type that thinks on their feet - in war, sometimes you don't have the time to deliberate over plans and decisions, you just fucking do it.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive and idealistic most of the time, Hikari has an incredibly bad habit of leaping before looking. She also likes to try and see the good in most situations, despite the majority thinking to the contrary. Prime example being the whole thing with trusting Jin with keeping his end of the deal when they first met - which ended up backfiring horribly because of Devil Jin.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
Graduated high school, she joined the military shortly afterward. Though some days she wonders what it would've been like had she gone on to college instead of joining the military.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Her areas of expertise lie in combat, cooking, motorcycles, and she's been dabbling in negotiation strategies since her time as Ambassador. She'd like to learn more about that, probably some more on actual strategy, and possibly bartending - considering some of the stress she has been through, being able to mix a good drink at home would be nice once in a while.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert. She loves being around people and helping out as much as she can.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Hikari's got her moody times, especially when she's stressed out. Most of the time she tries to be civil and cheerful, but after certain situations, she's been known to snap and get incredibly irritable. However, when she's not angry, she's actually a pretty laid-back individual, preferring to “go with the flow” until things get insane, then she snaps to attention and gets serious. So she has her driven moments under situations that call for her full attention, otherwise she's pretty laid-back.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
She's usually pretty open and friendly around people when she first meets them unless she gets a feeling of foreboding - then she's fairly suspicious. She's a pretty good judge of character when meeting people for the first time, albeit not perfect. :'|

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React, most of the time.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Fight like hell. She's got a warrior's instinct through and through.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Hikari is a goddamn smartass. She uses a lot of dry humor, and some flame/fire puns, although she backs off on those after people try dishing them back at her. She appreciates a good prank once in a while, she can tell entire stories about her shenanigans while in the army (which include getting Odyssius to do drunk karaoke, strip poker with the boys, and when she and Lars Rickrolled the entire rebel army).

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
While there's nothing real diagnosable, as a soldier and through her experiences, she does have some post-traumatic stress disorder and survivor's guilt. Oh, lord, she has survivor's guilt. Inferiority complex (DO NOT CALL HER WEAK SHE WILL PUNCH YOU D8), hero complex, etc. She hates feeling weak, not being able to protect people, and the fact that the people around her keep getting hurt. So. Yeah.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Kazumi's death, definitely. Also Tougou's death and Alisa's near-deactivation. All three events have shown how even though she tries to be emotionally distant, she just can't be. They also have shown her determination to make things right and that she will do whatever it takes to make it so. The attack on Fortuna and Odyssius's hospitalization thanks to Devil Jin would probably count in that category too, actually.

As for actual good events, defeating Devil Jin before she, Lars, and Raven left to stop Jin in the Middle East. That was probably one of her crowning moments - being able to show the demon that she's a force to be reckoned with, and that if you go after the people she cares about in order to get a rise out of her, there would be retaliation of the highest degree.

“Finally showed that fucker that I wasn't joking around.”
“Didn't he already know that?”
“Yeah, but this time I proved it to him. In spades.”

14. What does she fear?
Being persecuted for her abilities is a big one. Also not being able to help/protect those that she cares about.

“I was given these abilities for a damn reason. If I can't save one person, then what the hell am I doing.”

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
The major one she had during the rebellion's been fulfilled - stopping the Mishima Zaibatsu and companies like it from taking over, and inadvertently stopping Azazel, since that thing was going to try and destroy humanity. :'|

Now her main hope/aspiration is to try and help as many people as she can though demon slaying and to ultimately figure out what the hell she wants to do with her life.

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
Most of the main points of that have been revealed at one point or another, unfortunately. But the big things that she doesn't want the others at Asgard to know at this point involve the whole “oh yeah, by the by, I've got big-ass scars on my shoulder because of that demon I've mentioned before” thing, Kazumi (though that'll probably change as time goes on), and some of the darker things she's done under the military.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
She gets along with her parents, but they're pretty distant. Although to be honest, she doesn't mind that; she worries enough about other people as-is. Though she was worried enough about them to warn them about the Zaibatsu possibly coming after them when she joined the rebellion. Plus, she ended up hiding them in the rebel army's protection for their own safety.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
She used to have a younger sister, Kazumi. However, when Hikari was 16 and Kazu was 12, there was an accident while the two were walking home - a driver had blown a red light and was about to hit Hikari when Kazumi pushed her out of the way, taking the brunt of the blow. Even though it has been almost ten years since her death, it still has had a profound impact on Hikari's life and where she stands today - because of what happened, that was her motivation to “keep on living”.

As for their actual relationship, it was a pretty typical one. They argued, teased each other, and occasionally had fights, but they had gotten along pretty damn well, despite not sharing the same interests - Hikari was more of a tomboy, whereas Kazumi was more feminine.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
Not really, she's got some cousins in Osaka, but she hasn't talked to them recently, and she doesn't mind that, to be honest, especially after everything that happened with the rebellion.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Ohgod, where do I begin. Well, in-fic, there's Lars - he's the dependable big brother. She's in trouble, she knows he'll come help - or at least figure out a way to get someone over there to help out. Alisa's practically Lars's wife in Hikari's eyes (though she'll never say it out loud unless she wants to get hit by the Captain). Odyssius used to be boifurendo, but now he's another big-brother figure. Kaiya seemed to be a replacement for Kazumi for a short time until Jin pointed it out to her, then she stopped babying her so much, though Hikari does consider her to be like a little sister.

Asgard-wise, she definitely considered Souji to be like a little brother, bless him. Lady's helped her out a lot since she got there, and is probably another one to consider as a little sister in her eyes.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Odyssius, easily. They met when she signed up for the military, they were in the same recruit group. It wasn't until he had stepped in when she was being harassed (by way of negotiations) that she began to respect him, and when she returned the favor (by way of decking the others) that they began to connect. They've always had their differing ways - he was calm, cool-headed, and preferred to be more subtle, whereas she was impulsive, hot-headed, and loved doing things with style. They were a great team because of the fact that they were polar opposites, which allowed for them to counteract each other in the field.

6. Does she have other close friends?
In-fic, there was Hwoarang and Asuka - that was cemented mostly because of the fact that the three of them shared something of a mutual hatred for Jin and what he had done to the world. She fell head-over-heels for Tougou after a while, but that has since died since his death during the Millennium Tower mission.

Dean... he's complicated. He reminds her of herself in some ways, but also of some of her former subordinates from when she was with the rebellion, so she definitely considers him to be close, but she's not comfortable telling him (or the others she's met so far there, for that matter) about certain things. (For example, Kazumi and Tougou, how Devil Jin tried to torture the resistance group in order to break them, etc.) Sam's starting to move up on her likable list too. Asellus is a good friend, and they have fun together, but there isn't any major cementing just yet.

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
She wants to make friends, and now that the rebellion's over with, she's more liable to at least try and keep them as such. But during the rebellion, she tried to push people away to keep them safe.

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
To be honest, since she left home, she still cares about her family deeply, but she equates her friends on the same level, so it's pretty equal in that sense.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single, and isn't really looking at this point. That might change in the future, but for now, she's happy where she's at.

10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope~

11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Some little Japanese kid she met in kindergarten, she doesn't even remember him now, he's probably some pencil-pusher with a young pregnant wife or something.

Now? She fell hard for Tougou when he was alive, but after he died, she's tried to stay away from any romantic liaisons until she knows that nothing else will come back and bite her in the ass. 8| Though she does have a tiny crush on Dean, to which she won't admit to anytime soon.

12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Someone who's willing to put up with her shit, for one. Also must not mind the fact that she's a pyro by birth, thank you very much. Good looks are there, but being able to tolerate her abilities and what she gets into are the tough ones to pinpoint in people, and the major factors if she's going to try and have a relationship with someone.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
Doesn't have any kids at the moment, but I think she'd like to have one or two in the future, maybe. Adopt if it comes down to it. Though she's not sure how that'll go with her new career.

14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
Well yeah, considering she spends the majority of the fic I wrote her in she's fighting against the Mishimas. The main offenders on her list are Jin and Kazuya, the former blackmailing her into the war while the latter tried to make her home his new base of operations against the Mishima Zaibatsu and his son against the will of the majority of the population. YEAH, SHE'S NOT GOING TO LET THAT SHIT FLY.

Though if there's one person that she hates more than either of them, it's Devil Jin, although I suppose you could consider him to be a part of Jin. It's all incredibly confusing. :'| ANYWAY. Yeah. Demon + girl with demon-slayer blood = BAD END.

EVERY.
DAMN.
TIME.

After all, he's the one that actually broke Jin's cease-fire agreement and killed a good majority of the population, critically injured Odyssius to the point where he was in a coma for a week, and nearly ruined Hikari's left shoulder by way of tearing into it with his talons and THRUSTING A GODDAMN METAL POLE INTO IT. B|

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Heterosexual, with a 2 on the scale. As she's said to Dean, “Blame it around hanging around men for most of my life.”

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
...to be honest? I don't know, I'm such a fighterfag that I hardly ever think about these kind of things. :'| Though I suppose considering her personality, she's more of the type to get to know her partner first, though there are exceptions to that, especially when she doesn't know if she's going to survive the next day.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
I'll get back to you on that. :|b

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
We actually had discussion on this, which made me change it from the original thought - Hikari's got qualities of both the Cancer and Leo types, being a very emotional and impulsive person, as well as her tendency to be generous and full of energy.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
She's spiritual at times, she believes in a higher power, but at the same time, she questions why things have happened the way they have if there's supposedly someone “watching over us all”.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
She gained her code through her upbringing, but modified it as she's gotten older, especially in her time with the military and Special Forces, and it's even been modified further in her time fighting in the rebellion. It will take a lot to make her compromise her code (read: deciding between saving a lot of people vs. her close friends), and it's agonizing for her to make those kind of decisions.

4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Tolerant - she was raised to be tolerant, and her experiences only helped to reinforce that belief. Doesn't mean she won't speak up if she thinks something's wrong, though.

5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Biggest ones that I can think of would have to deal with demons/the supernatural - although she's not as intolerant as she could be, especially considering the fact that she has abilities herself. But she definitely gets suspicious of demons, and you can't honestly blame her, considering the crap that Devil Jin puts her through. So it's definitely justified. Although I'm thinking that the more time she spends around Dante and Vergil, she would realize more that sometimes it's not just your bloodline that dictates who you are.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Pretty comfortable, she's saved some money from when she was still in the military and when she was playing Ambassador for about half a year, and demon hunting doesn't do much in the way of profit a lot of the time, unfortunately.

2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Hikari's mostly stuck around in the middle-class range, and she honestly doesn't mind it one bit.

3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
When she was in the military, standard cabins, kept immaculate (because dear god you would get your ass handed to you if you didn't). Ambassador - one bedroom apartment, small, but comfortable and lived-in, at least. Usually just a place to crash - she was traveling a lot of the time. Rebellion time - she was in another small cabin, sometimes crashed at hotels when she was away from HQ on missions. She didn't sleep a whole lot during the last stretch of it, to be honest. 8'|

Now that she's done fighting like that, she's got an apartment similarly laid-out to what she had when she was playing Ambassador - though this one's got a guest bedroom, at least. It's small, but it's definitely got that lived-in, cozy feel to it. She's definitely going to be looking for art or something to personalize the place a bit more.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Ammo, armor repairs, parts for her bike, sometimes clothes. MUSIC. She's a musicphile sometimes, it's insane. Movies - usually comedies or old-school martial arts films (Bruce Lee ftw, dammit)

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
Currently? She's playing secretary at the local DMC office at Asgard, though she's been taking jobs herself since Dante seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. She'll probably make her own office when she gets some more money off of jobs.

6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
She's definitely interested in improving her martial arts skills, always has been, probably always will be. She's jokingly called her fists her “primary weapons” at times. She loves to cook, work on her bike and race it when she gets the chance - the rush from that is the most amazing thing ever outside of fighting, shut your whore mouth. :'|

When not fighting, training, working on her bike, or cooking, Hikari will sometimes sit down with a short book and some music and read for a bit, maybe nap. Her sleep schedule's whacked from her hours as a hunter and being forced to be on-guard for any calls during the rebellion.

7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Only skips meals when she's stressed, eats out when she gets a chance, although she's not a bad cook herself, it's just that most of the time she doesn't have the time to prepare anything. She'll drink when stressed or just trying to unwind (she and Dean are unofficial drinking buddies), and she's pretty tolerant of most foods, I can't think of any that she doesn't really like at this point.

4. Season? Summer
5. Book? idek
