Header question

Greetings all. I am getting ready to get new headers for my hemi. I have been looking around online to try to find ones that will work for my engine. It's a 1953 331 hemi, the ports are round. I've usually ordered from Hemi Hot Heads, but their headers are oval and will only work for 54's and up. I've checked out PAW's headers, but to me, they're ( Read more... )

Yeah, I often wonder about the questions I post on the various mopar/hearse boards. I'd like to think I'd get a good response, but at times all I hear are crickets.

Once in awhile I see a Chrysler 300 here at the car shows.

I have a set of the silver heat coated headers made by Sanderson on my '72 cadillac hearse with the 472 cid. I have had them installed for about 9 or 10 months now. I haven't had any trouble so far. I might add that I do not drive this car very much. And, though this is sort of irrelevant, I actually bought the headers from Maximum Torque Specialties instead of directly from Sanderson.

Let me also add that I used copper header gaskets and I also used a set of Breslin Stainless Split-Lock Header bolts which I bought from JEG'S. These bolts are a little pricey but with the copper gaskets and these bolts I haven't had any header leaks and so far I haven't even had to re-tightened them

I'll probaly have to order from Sanders directly. MTS has headers for the larger and "newer" engines. I've got to figure that they're a fairly good company, but I wanted to see if there were any hearse owners or mopar owners that dealt with them.

I figure once I get those in, I'll hopefully get my engine to the mechanic to have it, the tranny and everything hooked up in my hearse. I've still got to get the drive shaft checked out. I'm not really planning on driving my hearse daily, but I'd like to do it once a week.
