My Baby Came Home Today!!!

x-posted, naturally!

I brought Elvira home from the bodyshop today. We had her rust removed from the rear loading door, roof, side doors, misc. areas. She looks so beautifully shiney and brand new!!!!!!!!! I also took some artsy shots to turn into avatars for LJ and for the PCS message boards. Thanks for sharing my joy!

How long was she in the shop for?

Mine's been gone three weeks and I miss her terribly!

Three weeks.

It just sucks to look out into an empty space in the garage while they are gone, doesn't it?

Hi! I also have some rust on my (83 HEARSE) rear loading door. How Much was the body work on Elvira? Thax ROTZO

Your icon is going to give me nightmares.

Well, it is going to vary greatly depending on where you go, so my giving you the cost won't do you much good. I can tell you that the rust on my door was about the size of tennis ball and was starting to rust on both sides. It was eight hours of labor to fix my door.

My best advice is to talk to fellow hearse owners. Find out where they got their work done. I didn't even have to look around because I talked to two friends with three hearses between them that recommended this shop. Seeing the work firsthand and hearing about their experience sold me.

I'm not sure where you are located, but I can give you the shop's info if you'd like it. It is in Cleveland, Ohio.

Thank you! There is a definite point in time where I stop being a fan of newer hearses. I like mine because she is still boxy. I don't care for the newer streamlined look.

The mods (tinted windows, red pinstripe, dual exhaust pipes) were added by the previous owner and I decided to keep them.

My car is 91 with a Cadillac Fleetwood chassis and a Crown Superior coach make.
