So I am really curious as to why people feel the need to always announce when they are leaving for a week or two? Is this really catastrophic? Do we all really need to be made aware that you might not post for gasp! a couple days or maybe a couple weeks? I have seen people make posts because they were going to be gone three days ... why is that

Well really I do it only for annoyance value. Why not be terribly annoying when the opportunity arises? I really don't know either.
