i know im an outside but i believe a band is only a band when everyone has a collective name and the singer doesnt pay them seperately.
music however can be anything but i refuse to believe ashlee simpson or jlo is are bands. thats just stupid and gay. no offence to gays here.

well pretty much anyone that listens to matchbook romance and senses fail and the used will be dress in the emo style. not everyone of course follows the trend but there is a BIG bunch of people that do.

Sorry, I just need to point out that, while Elton John and Vanessa Carlton aren't classified as "bands," they do play their own music. They're both pianists. Meaning they sit down at their pianos and play and sing, not dance all over the stage (though some rocking out isn't out of the question for Sir Elton).

Also, just because someone is in a band, that doesn't mean they don't dance. Aerosmith, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles -- they all danced and they all played their own music.
