Someone was stabbed in front of Kerly's house Friday night. There was a huge crowd outside, and Matt (Kerly's roommate) and whomever else had gone outside earlier basically found out what had happened by the things people were saying as they ran away from the scene. wow, the prologue from Flowers in the Attic is amazing. I've never even heard of her but i think i'll buy that book. That's such a weird idea for a story. it sounds a bity creepy but very interesting

Isn't it? I loved that book when I was a kid. :-) Families in New England used to keep mentally ill or retarded relatives locked up in rooms in the house instead of hospitals. Flowers in the Attic is the first in a five-part series, but I think V.C. Andrews only wrote the first two, and her ghostwriter, Andrew Neiderman, wrote all the others. It's funny how there are at least fifty books published under Andrews' name, but she only wrote about five of them! If you ever see her books, you'll notice that there's a trademark symbol after her name. I think she was the first author to have her name trademarked. It had something to do with the IRS. The agent who had settled her estate after she died saw a book with her name on it in a store years later, and didn't remember that title having been previously published, so the IRS sued her family for millions of dollars in back taxes owed on the books published by Neiderman. I don't know what the outcome of the case was, but somehow, it resulted in her name being trademarked. I used to want to ( ... )
