what i don't understand is how this "reverand" and her mate (and the jurors) think homosexuality is not “incompatible to Christian teachings.” what Bible are they reading?

The new trend in churches today is to take everything the bible says as an analogy. Once you start doing that, you leave everything, even direct commandments and laws, as being directly open to human interpretation. That gives rise to being able to just blatantly disregard anything you want. There are movements that say women should be able to be leaders above men, for example. This wouldn't be so bad, if their whole argument wasn't centered around COMPLETELY disregarding anything paul had to say on the matter based on their beginning assumption that paul was a mysoginist. Saying paul was a mysoginist allows them to just disregard any commands he gives to women as being a product of the male dominated society he was in, thus leaving no relevance in today's society. Ok, you disregard what you want to, but then somehow the rest of his instructions and teachings are somehow valid still? You disregard one, and you invalidate them all. Churches have been doing this forever. The catholic church has been (and still is, for good ( ... )
