So has anyone else been hearing that Keanu Reeves is slated to play Spike Spiegel in a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie? I'm pretty dubious about the idea of a live-action Cowboy Bebop in general, but I'm very dubious of Keanu-Spike

ADAMA/TIGH: Oh, I so can't have that image in my head.
Yeah, I wouldn't exactly be enthusiastic to read any explicit scenes involving those two, but I still think the relationship is one of the most intriguing ones on the show.
I was never a big fan of Dualla (she's always been so uptight and rigid, IMO), so I wasn't too sorry to see her go. I wonder though if Ellen's not the last cylon, how they'll explain Tigh's "memories" of her. The show's writers do seem to have short (and extraordinarily flexible) memories, though. I kept wondering last night why, if the humans and cylons are allies now, they don't just all go back to the 12 colonies? They were in good enough shape for the cylons to live there in the first few seasons, right?
And I do miss the days of Starbuck stabbing Leoben in the neck, although I'm always happy to see Callum Keith Rennie.
A while back I heard about Keanu Reeves and the live action Cowboy Bebop movie. He is very knowledgeable about the series and storyline, wants to keep the integrity of the show... he might be the lesser of two evils. I would really hate to see someone come in with NO idea of who Spike is and really change the character :(
Oh how I hold out hope they do a good job casting the others. Especially Ed. She's my favorite. XD
I couldn't wrap my head around this version of BSG...and I've never understood why! It has so much to offer.
Keanu is so very pretty, but so very vapid. I never think of him as a good choice. From a recent issue of New York magazine, a review of TDTEST "...the beautifully blank Keanu Reeves has a dream job here, since he doesn't even have to pretend to emote." That says it all about Keanu's acting ability.
BSG does have a lot to offer, but it's also extremely frustrating...full of plot holes, inexplicable character 180s, and they've stretched out the last two seasons over like three years!

Yep. I think he's very watchable and likable in the right sort of roles, but I'm not sure he's going to be roguish enough for Spike.
Everything I've read has pretty much pointed to official, him being in the movie. Haven't heard any other cast choices, though. May they do a better job than w/ Avatar.
Oooh, had a headache last night and did not watch the latest ep yet. I know it's highly unlikely, but I so want Adama to be the Fifth, just for that pairing's sake.
Oh yeah, I see a hell of a lot of potential in that pairing! Hmm, I need to catch earlier eps of the series (might invest in the dvds or something, see if there are downloads out there at least or join Netflix) before I could consider writing for the fandom, but it seems a hell of a lot saner than some out there that I could name!

In any case I just hope Cowboy Bebop the live action feature doesn't end up like Speed Racer. *shudders*

Oh yay! So glad to hear someone else sees the potential there too. :) Think there's a new fandom in your writing future? *waggles eyebrows*
