So has anybody else been watching Season 2 of True Blood? Is it just me, or ( cut for spoilers )

I adored Godric and I'm all for Godric/Eric! I actually cried when he died. I was so very upset that he was leaving the show already. Such an intriguing character. I also think the actor playing him did a fantastic job of it.

*nods* I got a little misty eyed during the roof scene too. I have to admit I was a bit wishy-washy on the first season, but this time around I'm officially hooked.

I enjoyed the first season, but second seasons has just been that much better. Did you see last Sunday's episode?

Yep. My only critique would be that it was too short. :)

Oh yeah, especially considering the revelation in the most recent book about what happened between Godric and Eric after Godric turned him. But it's been ages since I've read the second book, so they may have been keeping w/ that (which sucks that it's the one canon thing they are keeping with...).

Oh, do tell! I doubt I'll ever get around to reading the books and since they apparently aren't being terribly loyal to the source material, I doubt it'll be much of a spoiler.

In any case, I've really been enjoying both Eric and Godric's characters, so perhaps I'll just have to come up with an AU in my head where they're together. ;)

Basically, Godwin/Eric is canon. Eric admits to Sookie that Godwin turned him because he wanted a companion and they were lovers. He told her that while he left a wife and family behind and prefers women, he really didn't mind being Godwin's lover too much (or didn't find it unbearable, I need to look up the exact phrasing, but he didn't make it come across as if it was a horrible experience on his part). So yep, canon!!! Not AU at all!

The TV series diverges from the books quite a bit, which was intentionally from what I've read about it. I've heard that Godric in the TV series is supposed to be quite a bit different than his book portrayal.
