Gamers, I need your help!

So, I'm starting up a new research collaboration and we're designing an experiment where we need to have participants come in and play a game in separate rooms for a little while. We're looking for a relatively simple online game (no deep RPGs or RTS types) that has both co-op and vs. modes (the idea is for some participants to develop a sense of ( Read more... )

Alas, no. Have this week off because we're halfway through the full summer semester. Next week I add two eight week classes, so I'll have three at once. Not looking forward to that!

Are you situated in ND? How is it, you need to tell us all about it!

Still in Nashville for a few more weeks, but between apartment-hunting in two towns and trying to hit all the cool hiking spots in TN that we never got around to before, we've been traveling almost non-stop. I'll have to make time for a proper update soon.

I've been trying to keep up on reading LJ (if not commenting), so I did see that you have a rotten instructor this summer; you definitely have my sympathies. Do you really think you'll have to retake the course?

Sorry, no help here. About the only games I play would be Chuzzles Deluxe, Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, Sheep Launcher and Cows vs. Aliens. *blushes and hides*

Actually, those little games are the sorts I'm probably looking for. I mostly only know and play stuff on consoles, but I doubt my collaborators are willing to buy a couple of Xbox systems for their lab.

How have things been with you lately? I've been running around so much this summer I'm feeling even more out of touch than usual!

Chuzzles and Chuzzles Deluxe are PopCap games. I think they're around $10 or $20. It's a match three type and a great time waster as well as comedy relief. If you keep tapping on one of the little fuzzy things -- it eventually "explodes" and all the hair flies off before quickly growing back again. If you keep tapping one of the big ones that comes up later in the game, it lets out a HUGE belch. *falls over laughing ( ... )

I can definitely relate on the busyness and resulting lurkiness. This summer I'm really seriously feeling like there aren't enough hours in the day. We're still in Nashville (for another 3 weeks), but we've been traveling a lot looking for new apartments and whatnot. I'm going to MAKE time for a proper update soon!
