A masked ball wasn't exactly Sharon's thing. She found a dress and a mask and came, though, because Kara was. It wasn't that she thought Kara couldn't take care of herself, she just...wanted to be there. But Kara had a date, and Sharon didn't even know what to make of that, so she'd kept herself fairly scarce. Either way, it might be her last party ( Read more... )

"My roof is made a' palm fronds and most people live in huts," he answers, walking over to her, "I've got no reason to wear a suit. If I had a suit to wear." He only bothers to put a shirt on over the wife-beater if he's got IPD duty, some days. Tonight, he doesn't. He's not even wearing his boot, now that the cold spell has ended. "You're lucky you caught me after a wash."

He tilts his head and takes in the mask, then the dress. "Look nice tonight," he says, looking around. "Guess this is where the party is, then?"

"The island population's just doing what it does best," Sharon said, "pretending for a night."

She grinned, looking down at her dress and over at his bare feet. "Thanks. You look clean enough to me, and I can't smell you. I'd say you're good if you want to come in with me for a drink."

"Alcohol's pretty good for pretending," he offers diplomatically, grimacing in the direction of where he can hear the party. He watches her carefully for a moment, sparing another glance in the party's direction, then offers his arm. "Well then, let's go."

"Unfortunately it's water and juice for me," Sharon said, but she didn't really mind. She hadn't been much of a drinker, only after Helo disappeared had she done it with a little more frequency.

She took his arm and headed for the entrance. "Would you like to borrow my mask?"
